Had enough of Big Ben and Tower Bridge? Get to know another side of London by taking a walking tour focused around street art, pubs and poets, or even Harry Potter.

Street Art Tour

Before East London became known for the Olympics, it was known for its street art. Shoreditch is home to an incredible collection of tags by some of the scene’s best-known graffiti artists. You’ll likely see works by Banksy, of course, but it doesn’t end there. Dozens others have made their mark in London — here’s your chance to learn more about them and the street art subculture. A number of companies offer street art tours, including Street Art London and Aerosol Planet.

Literary Pub Crawl

Like pints? Like poetry? Then a literary pub crawl is for you. London has inspired a host of literary greats, from Charles Dickens to Virginia Woolf. Follow their footsteps on a literary pub crawl that will take you to the taverns where they ate, drank and wrote. The London Literary Pub Crawl takes you through Fitzrovia and Soho and is lead by the Maverick Theatre Company.

Harry Potter Tour

Fancy a stroll down Diagon Alley? Want to pose with Harry’s Nimbus 2000? You can do all that and more at The Making of Harry Potter, a Warner Bros. studio tour that lets you go behind the scenes of the much-loved film series. The tour promises that “secrets will be revealed” so if you’re a diehard Harry Potter fan, this is something you can’t miss. The studio is located just 20 km outside of London, by Watford Junction. Be sure to book your tickets in advance — none are available at the door.
